SA-NO,
is one kind of plant that grows only once a year during
July through September or during rainy season. It is usually
planted in paddy fields, but only in the central part of
Thailand.
The height is approximately
6 feets. The stem is straight with sew branches or limbs.
The stem’s diameter is about one inch to one inch
and a half. The bark is semi hard, and the unique characteristic
is that the bark can be peeled to reveal an inner tissue
which is white in color. The tissue can be rolled out
similar to gauze cloth.
SA-NO has to be
dried by leaving in the sun for few days. This is to
prevent it from being dampened and getting moldy.
SA-NO stem will be chopped
to certain sizes, depending on the type of flowers being
made. The bark is peeled to reveal the white tissue that
is later used to make petals of flowers.
Since SA-NO is a
natural plant, it will not harm the environment after
disposal. |
